Hey guys, I was just searching through Forzamotorsport.net and couldn't find any topics on it but saw quite a few of the DIS tags. So, I was curious which view you guys drift in. I only just started playing so I want to get used to the view which will give me the best possible drifting technique etc. Anyways, thanks alot in advance, and if any of you guys just drift for fun could I perhaps join you online to get some tips/pointers?

Although this question appears to be directed at DIS , I as a TWM guy will be the first to respond (even on their forums )
For drifting I use the farthest zoomed out cam. That way you can see whats coming up ahead and you can see next to your car so you can tandem with people and not look like a douchebag (tiltmodearmy) by running into them. _________________ "You buy a honda or toyota and it smells like chow mein inside" - Guy who called me at work. |

I really don't mind who replies, I just saw alot of the DIS people on drift forum on forzamotorsport.net so stopped by here. Thanks for the input on both threads 701Drifter, add me on XBox Live if ya want and Ill have more questions for ya haha. Also, do most people drift as far back from the car as possible?

No problem dude. Always looking to share knowledge with anyone who wants to learn. You should sign up for FMDA (forzadrift.com) a whole community of people into drifting on forza. Lots of info and cool people. _________________ "You buy a honda or toyota and it smells like chow mein inside" - Guy who called me at work. |

Your point of view is a matter of preference. Some people us the far out from the car view (3rd Person), I myself drift in the hood view (1st Person). I've driven 1st person in every driving game that had the option since all the way back to Gran Tourismo 1. Its what I'm most comfortable with. It took me a bit to get used to tandeming while in first person, but once you get a good feel for drifting and how the other person drifts, it will fall into place. _________________

Yeah I am sure it does. I like to out of car so I can see how much angle I am getting and where the other car is , but to each their own. _________________ "You buy a honda or toyota and it smells like chow mein inside" - Guy who called me at work. |

I use the closest 3rd person view. I like to see how close I'm getting to the car while maintaining my angle view. In first person it looks like I'm not getting enough angle so it causes me to stall out easier. Like what was said, it's mainly about personal preference. Try out all views and use what feels best to you. |

I'm with tiger on this one, no homo. lol
Whatever view you use to race in, I would stick with. I've always used the hood/first person view in any racing game, so naturally I drift in the same view. It's a little more difficult to see what's on the side of you or behind you but if you can maintain the drift while moving the joystick a little towards the car you're following, you'll be good. After a while I learned how close I can get and when I need to back off, hit the brakes, or speed up. It helps if you drift with someone a lot and learn they're drifting "style". _________________ DIS.SE7EN1.UNBROKEN
