SW2 Tuning is back for Forza Motorsport 3. We've been discussing a lot in the garage lately, and come up with a lot of new ideas to keep everyone talking about SW2 Tuning. Although we don't have any cars ready yet, we thought we'd get the ball rolling on the new game, with the announcement of an exciting new idea:
SW2 Platinum Members
Welcome to the introduction of SW2’s new Platinum Member service. This service is to compliment our already established Platinum Line (henceforth known as “Platinum Collection”) of cars. Platinum Members will not have to win the Platinum Collection cars, as was previously the case. They will instead have the ability to purchase them for a flat rate price of 750,000 Cr. per car, regardless of make/model/class/etc.
What is the Platinum Collection?
We intend to develop the Platinum Collection’s concept and breadth of cars with the release of Forza Motorsport 3, deviating from our previous concept of using it for for semi-leaderboard cars and cars that had already seen wide release by other garages. Instead, we are going to use Platinum Collection status for releases that don't fit the mold of other releases in the Tuning Marketplace. This can be for a multitude of reasons, but mostly they will be stellar niche cars, somewhere along the lines of a RWD Cayman or a magnificently painted Ferrari; a collection of really interesting and desirable cars that are all different from the norm.
However, the ability to purchase the Platinum Collection cars is not the only advantage that Platinum Members will enjoy. In addition, we have set aside the following benefits:
What else do I get?
- Platinum Members have their own exclusive section of our forums that is also accessible to SW2 members. In that section will be housed exclusive wallpapers, access to Work In Progress tunes, test liveries, polls for what our next releases should be, as well as a plethora of other insider details. As a Platinum Member, you can help to shape our releases.
- Special Signature Toppers will be made for both our forums as well as FM.net if the Platinum Members wish to proudly display their prominence in the world of SW2 Tuning.
- Special private auctions for SW2 Limited Edition releases. Each time we sell an LE, Platinum Members won’t have to fight it out with the general public of the Forza community. Instead they will bid in auctions opened only to other Platinum Members, hopefully lessening the blow to the wallet as well as the time constraints of a large bidding war.
Become a Platinum Member
So how can you become a Platinum Member? The rules are simple. It is a point-based system maintained in the General Discussion section of the SW2 forums. You get points for various SW2 related activities (listed below) and once you accrue enough points, you will be invited to become an SW2 Tuning Platinum Member.
The minimum number of points for entry is 25. Points are rewarded for the following:
4 pt. – Place 1st in an SW2 contest.
3 pt. – Place 2nd in an SW2 contest.
2 pt. – Place 3rd in an SW2 contest.
2 pt. – Set a top 100 time on any track with an SW2 release. Proof will be needed in the form of a photo or a LB time. (1 per release)
1 pt. – Enter an SW2 contest. (1 per release)
1 pt. – Post a picture and a short (paragraph or so) review of an SW2 release in the thread for that release. (1 per release)
1 pt. – Answer an SW2 trivia question correctly in the thread for an SW2 release. (1 per release)
Although we will not place a maximum on the number of points you can acquire per release, you must participate in the release of at least 3 cars before you are eligible for Platinum status. We have also appointed dn604 as the Platinum Collection Manager. dn604’s responsibilities as manager will include keeping track of the points everyone has in a public thread in the SW2 General Discussion forum, granting Platinum Members access to the special section of the forum, as well as getting Platinum Collection cars out to winners.
